Forbes says she’s one of 14 Power Women to follow on Twitter. Currently the #1 Los Angeles blog in the Facebook Network, Jessica is one of the major voices leading the conversation, or should we say “Momversation,” today in the “Mommy Blogging” community. Insightful, genuine, witty, and (our favorite part) irreverant, Jessica Gottlieb never fails to disappoint.

FlooiD took a conventional Wordpress theme, and modified it to fit her social-media focused aesthetic. Arranged to accommodate a wide array of topics and information, we’ve laid out the site so that each item is impactful and compelling. February 25, 2010: Baker Media has hired FlooiD Interactive to redesign and relaunch Comedian Nick Di Paolo’s web site.

Nick Di Paolo is a nationally renowned comedian, with several albums and television specials to his credit.

FlooiD has completed the design concept process, and will be porting Nick’s current site from the VBulletin framework to the highly extensible Wordpress platform beginning next week.

FlooiD is an interactive design studio based out of NYC and Columbus, Ohio. Flooid provides highly specialized, versatile and innovative web solutions that allows their clients to achieve the fullest potential from their web experience.

Nick Di Paolo is a nationally renowned comedian, with several albums and television specials to his credit. Appearing on virtually every Comedy Central “Roast,” as well as a frequent guest of Howard Stern, Nick’s virulent strain of comedy is sure to make even the most cynical viewer blush.

Challenge

Built upon the popular message board software, VBulletin, Nick’s site had grown large and complicated to manage. Using unsupported plugins and hacks to achieve what should have been easy upgrades, the platform had become difficult to modify and even harder to scale. Various methods were used to allow Nick to udpate his site while on tour, many of which caused conflicts with existing software, and essentially broke the site.

Opportunity

FLOOiD is working with Baker Media to redesign and rearchitect Nick’s site, cleaning up the layout and navigation, as well as enhancing Nick’s social media integration.

Porting the site from Vbulletin to the Wordpress platform will allow for easier integration of plugins and functionality crucial to Nick being able to update easily while on the road via twitter.

FlooiD is creating a custom theme for Nick, one that will easily reflect his upward mobility in the comedy and entertainment world.

Bob Woodward

Bob Woodward is the critically acclaimed author of such books as “All The President’s Men,” as well as longtime associate editor of the Washington Post. Bob came to FlooiD seeking a way to put online a chronological list of his works, a biography, and a comprehensive FAQ that both he and his assistants could edit at will. After agreeing upon a design concept that was both professionally representative of both the author and his career, FlooiD skinned the site onto an easy-to-use Content Management System (CMS). FlooiD also provided training and ongoing support in the use of the CMS.

Il Pallazone is a Tuscan vineyard and winery. FlooiD teamed with Baker Media to build a multi-lingual site that contains many rich content features, as well as a heavily customized backend Content Management System.

Baker Media is a FlooiD partner from Connecticut. A powerhouse in the entertainment website space, with a roster of some of the industry’s leading talent today, FlooiD is proud to be the go-to design studio for many of Baker Media’s higher-profile clientelle.

Challenge

BakerMedia.com had been running off of a highly-customized VBulletin platform that had, over the years, become complicated and unusable. Multiple hacks and a myriad of files to edit made even the easiest aesthetic updates practically impossible.

Opportunity

FlooiD redesigned BakerMedia.com to reflect the scale and class of everything that Baker Media had accomplished over many years in the business. FlooiD ported the content to the Wordpress platform, adding in many prominent social media integration features, as well as highly customized User Interface elements.

By cleaning up the navigation and information structure, this lead to a positive increase in deep-diving page views over time since the initial relaunch.

FlooiD also created several identity explorations, which were ultimately never used.

Anonymous Media Research

Anonymous Media Research is focused on new measurement methods and technologies to address the on-demand media viewing patterns and social-media sharing behaviors that have become the norm among consumers. Founded by Jonathan Steuer, a founding partner of HotWired, Anonymous Media Research uses a patent-pending media measurement system and method to understand consumers’ use of media across multiple devices and platforms.

Anonymous Media Research contacted FlooiD in order to both update the design of their company website, as well as upgrade it from it’s outdated Typepad platform to the highly flexible & extensible Wordpress Content Management System (CMS).

Tween Brands Intranet

FlooiD created a strategic and tactical plan to upgrade the Tween Brands intranet from what was a stodgy early-web incarnation into a powerful, employee-engaging social media platform. Utilizing Wordpress MU, and heavily integrating the Microsoft Exchange platform through various custom modifications, FlooiD utilized industry best practices in order to rank this intranet high on customer satisfaction.

Jake Clark was the Interactive Creative Director for ShopJustice.com, and in that capacity designed and engineered several relaunches of the Justice website.

Over the years, as the company and online business grew exponentially, the site required numerous User Interface and Usability enhancements. These redesigns were run simultaneously while managing a creative team in all aspects of eCommerce, including campaign concept and execution, email marketing, and web production.

Interactive/Flash was used widely as a means to enhance marketing capabilities, as a workaround to non-existent site display functionality, and to deliver entertainment content.

Before creating Simulistic, Jeff worked in the 3D Computer Graphics field for 20 years, including working as a senior engineer for SGI / Maya for nearly seven years. Prior to leading Simulistic, Sandy held management positions in the communications and entertainment industry for nearly 20 years.

The Bogey Inn

The Bogey Inn, or “The Bogey” as it’s colloquially known, originally opened in the 1920s as the Dam Site Bar, a rowdy spot frequented by those working on nearby O’Shaughnessy Dam. Legend has it, you could waste a day’s wages in no time flat: All you could eat for $1, all you could drink for $1 and a bit of (ahem!) stress-relief for $1 in canvas tents set up in nearby fields.

FlooiD was hired by the Bogey to develop an informational/entertainment destination with strong integration to it’s existing Facebook fan page. FlooiD is currently in development on this project, and will be announcing it’s launch within the next few weeks.
